Causes of Centrifuge Vibration:
#1 Reason is Flooded Centrifuge.
1. Feed rate too high
15 gallons per hour with 1 inch ID hose and ¾ inch NPT piping
25 gallons per hour with 1.25 inch ID hose and 1 inch NPT piping
Greater than 25 gallons per hour must use 1.5 inch ID hose and 1.25 inch NPT piping
NEVER USE LESS THAN ¾ inch NPT with 1 inch ID hose.
2. Undersized drain for flow rate. See flow rate tables at USfiltermaxx .com Technical Manuals.
3. Drain has a double dip – see the P-trap information at USFiltermaxx.com Technical Manuals.
4. Restricted Drain.
5. Spindle Spun in centrifuge base from loose spindle lock. The clearance in the spindle housing is .003 inch if the spindle spins in the housing, this clearance is destroyed and the bowl wobbles.
The spindle lock on the replacement centrifuge has been locktighted in place. Do not remove it.
6. Bowl imbalance from disassembly. Bowls are balanced to 1/10 gram. Never disassemble the centrifuge bowl. DO NOT run a centrfiuge if the bowl has been disassembled. Bowl disassembly immediately voids the warranty.
7. Slowly filling a bowl spinning at high RPM. The bowl should be quickly filled and flow rate adjusted after filling.
