Machine shops and production lines go through large volumes of coolant, cutting fluid, hydraulic oil and wash fluid. Keeping those fluids clean helps them last longer between changes and reduces how much you send for disposal.
Where the contamination comes from
Machining produces metal fines and swarf that stay suspended in coolant. Hydraulic systems wear internally and pick up particles. Parts washers accumulate oil and grime from every part that passes through. Tramp oil leaks into water-based fluids.
How centrifugal separation helps
Centrifuges remove fine solids that settle too slowly to drop out in a sump, and separate liquids of different density. Solids collect in the bowl for removal, so there are no filter elements to replace.
Typical uses
- Removing metal fines from cutting fluids and coolants
- Cleaning hydraulic and lubricating oils
- Extending the life of parts-washer fluid
- Separating tramp oil from water-based fluids
