Assembly Instructions
- Apply Teflon tape: Wrap motor mount stud and all leg bolts with at least 8 turns of Teflon tape.
- Install motor mount stud: Insert into centrifuge base and tighten firmly with vise-grip pliers.
- Attach legs: Secure with 1/2" bolts and lock washers.
- Tighten leg bolts: Torque evenly — do not over-tighten cast aluminum base.
- Set motor mount plate: Position plate on motor per included diagram.
- Install motor bolts: Insert three 3/8-16 bolts with flat and lock washers. Tighten fully.
- Shim the pulley: Place folded card stock (business card) over the bolts as a shim.
- Install drive pulley: Press down until it just contacts the shim. Tighten set screw. Remove shim. Do NOT hammer cast iron pulley — file small burrs if fit is too tight.
- Wire the motor: 14 AWG for 240V; 12 AWG for 120V. Verify voltage on motor nameplate before connecting power.
Note: Output valves are not used on centrifuges manufactured after 2006.
